Sleeping Zora started on a chilly February day. South Bristol, Maine is famous for beautiful yachts nestled next to lobsterman’s docks. The boats wrapped in white plastic reflect incredible light nuances.

I am intrigued by the design and beauty of the light bouncing around this place.

The light is low in the sky in Maine in the winter months. It changes fast and the days are short. This makes lovely angles and bright shining bursts of light.

I can’t wait for summer!

My life has been blessed by many many hours sailing Lake Michigan, the East Coast of the US, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. I am in my element when sailing. Painting these sleeping beauties gives me the greatest pleasure.

I am home!
